Scoring Writing

Yesterday students viewed some third grade writing samples and worked with their writing partners to assess a piece using our narrative checklist! They had a great time playing the role of teacher! Students then set goals for their writing. They chose something they could work on as we finish this unit (a strong lead, using their storytelling voice to tell all the tiny details, more dialogue, a strong ending, etc.)! Ask your student what he/she is working on in writing!
