Our Schoolyard Ecosystem

We're learning about ecosystems in science! This morning we beat the heat and headed outside to explore our schoolyard ecosystem - all the living and non living things and their interactions!

Ms. Shelly came outside and asked some of us to help her pick the ripe tomatoes! How fun!

Outside in the grass we saw many crickets!

Our scavenger hunt was a lot of fun! Ask your child about some of our ecosystem vocabulary including: habitat, population, and community!

Third Grade 2014-2015!

We have been back at school for five days now and we've had a lot of fun getting to know one another and begin establishing our routines, procedures, and expectations! Here's a look at our first few days of the 2014-2015 school year!
We worked together to come up with our "Class Constitution"

We've been reading the poem "What's in the Sack?" by  Shel Silverstein

Students have put various items in their own "sack" to share their interests and talents with us!

We are a team! This our class quilt that wouldn't be complete without each of us!

In reading, we've learned how to choose good-fit books!

Students are super readers! Our read-to-self time is going great!

We've also set goals as readers!

In math, we started some partner games to begin our workstations!

It's going to be a great year! We hope you'll check back to see more of our learning and activities!
