Today we had our winter party! It was lots of fun decorating and eating cookies, having an indoor snowball fight, decorating gifts, and playing a minute-to-win it cotton ball snow ball race! Thank you families for organizing, planning, and hosting a great party!
We hope everyone has a safe, wonderful holiday and a fantastic winter break! See you in 2018!

Winter Writing Celebration
Today we celebrated our information writing! Students worked very hard to draft a book with an introduction, several strong chapters, and a conclusion! We even included helpful text features and a table of contents!

Our Student Teacher
We were very lucky to have a second teacher this semester! December 7 was her last day, so we had a little celebration! She will continue to play an important role in our school year. We are thrilled!
Multiplication/Division
We've been exploring and practicing various strategies for multiplication and division! Here are some multiplication/division turkeys we made just before Thanksgiving!
Narrative Writing Celebration
Our narrative writing unit was lots of fun! We did a gallery walk to celebrate their finished, published stories!
Social Studies Midwest Tour!
In social studies we learned about the geography of our region. Therefore, we went on a Midwest crop duster tour! We boarded our little airplane and took off for lots of great learning!
Kindness
We read a story called Each Kindness by Jacqueline Woodson. Students then squeezed all of a small toothpaste tube out on a paper plate. Their goal was to use toothpicks to put it all back in the tube! Of course, it's impossible! This is a lot like the words we say and actions we do toward others. Once said or done, you really can't get it all back! Of course, apologizing is wonderful, but it's very important to think about being kind! Students LOVE this activity!
