Winter Break Reading!

Winter break is almost here! Don't forget to read!!! Here's a look at the reading skills we've been working on! Your student can also complete the optional "Snowman Reading Log" and/or begin logging minutes for the Six Flags Read to Succeed program over the holidays! These logs will be arriving Thursday. Thanks for supporting your third grade student!

Informational Writing Celebration!

Today was an exciting today! We shared and celebrated our informational books! Students worked so hard this quarter on these pieces. I am so proud of each of them! Their books have a Table of Contents, various informational chapters, text features, and some have even included a glossary and/or index and a references page! They should be so proud of themselves! We cannot wait to take them home and share them with our families next week!

Today we began with a "gallery walk" or "museum walk." Students circulated the classroom and read classmates' writing.

We ended with some sweet treats and hot chocolate! Thank you to the parents who sent in the cookies! Students were thrilled!

It was a fantastic morning! I know that students cannot wait to do it again after our next writing unit!
