Kindergarten Buddies!
Today we met our Kindergarten buddies! We got to know one another and discussed 'service learning' and the armed forces! This year our buddy activities will focus on crafts and projects that support the men and women in our military! We can't wait for our first one in October!

Praying Mantis Observation!
Today a classmate brought in a praying mantis and crickets to share! This tied to our science unit on food chains! Some of us watched the mantis eat a cricket! We also observed him up close with our Elmo camera! We got to talk about predators of the mantis and other organisms within this food chain! Thanks for sharing!!!

Writers Crafting True Stories!
We are working hard in writing on our first personal narratives! We are trying to tell a small moment "seed story!" That means that we've zoomed in to focus our topic instead of writing about a giant watermelon idea!
Come on Rain by Karen Hesse has been a wonderful mentor text! You can read it with your child as an ebook in his/her Storia account!
We've also started working with writing partners! It's fun to share ideas and help one another!
Students are crafting wonderful true stories! They are writers hard at work!
