Social Studies Midwest Tour!
In social studies we learned about the geography of our region. Therefore, we went on a Midwest crop duster tour! We boarded our little airplane and took off for lots of great learning!
Kindness
We read a story called Each Kindness by Jacqueline Woodson. Students then squeezed all of a small toothpaste tube out on a paper plate. Their goal was to use toothpicks to put it all back in the tube! Of course, it's impossible! This is a lot like the words we say and actions we do toward others. Once said or done, you really can't get it all back! Of course, apologizing is wonderful, but it's very important to think about being kind! Students LOVE this activity!

Plants!
We've been busy in science studying plants! First, we became botanists and did some plant observations!
Then it was time to plant some seeds of our own! We placed bean seeds into a wet paper towel in a bag and hung them in our window! Just a few days later, we could see some changes happening!
With a few more days, they were really growing!
We made sure to document the data and changes just like a scientist would!
Finally, it was time to give our plants a more proper place to grow!
Ask your student how much they've grown!
Eclipse Day!
On August 21 something amazing happened in our area! We got to see a total solar eclipse! We spent the day learning all about the eclipse. We even did a chalk activity to predict what the corona would look like! It was such an exciting event!
